Immersive STEM Learning

STEMworks™ equips students with industry standard software and technology for use in their STEM service-learning projects. But that’s not all. Technology training is also provided throughout the year for students and teachers to become proficient in the latest technologies.

The highlight of my STEMworks™ experience was getting to work on CAD programs. I found out that I like to design things, especially buildings. STEMworks™ has taught me how to be a self-directed learner. I do not procrastinate as much and I’ve learned how to be a team player.

Software Camp opportunities include:

  • AutoDesk Fusion 360 - Learn how to 3-D model with Computer Aided Design software and create your own ready-to-print 3-D models!

  • Adobe CS6 Illustrator - Explore industry standard vector drawing program through a variety of fun and engaging projects using the framework of Comic Book Design in order to explore the variety of powerful drawing tools available in Illustrator. Students will deconstruct, plan, create, and execute in Illustrator their own storyboards, landscape and characters.

  • Adobe Photoshop - Learn how to use Adobe Photoshop to get started in graphic design and video editing.

  • Solidworks - Hands-on session exploring pre-engineering and design methods using 3-D CAD. Transform ideas into prototypes and products.
