Maui County Student Healthcare Placement Program
June 9 - July 17, 2026

STEMworks is expanding its paid internship program with a healthcare job shadowing opportunity, exclusive to Maui County students! In collaboration with the Maui County Healthcare Partnership, (8) Maui, (2) Hāna, (2) Molokai, and (2) Lāna'i students will be matched for a 6-week program, exploring clinical and administrative careers under the County’s most impactful healthcare organizations.
Student Requirements:
Incoming high school seniors (starting Fall 2026), incoming or current associates/ undergraduate students
Commitment of 6 weeks between June 9 - July 17, 2026
20 hours per week (full and/or half days allowed, flexible hours agreed by host company)
Submitting weekly timesheets
Attending all orientation, professional development, and student showcase events (1 emergency option)
Students will gain:
HIPAA training at orientation (additional training may be required on intern’s time depending on host company)
Hands on experience with top local health sites
Pilina built with student cohort and healthcare leaders
$2,100 stipend upon successful completion of program
Important Dates
For Hāna, Molokai, and Lāna'i students: Travel accommodations allocated for in-person activity to ensure equitable access and cohort development

June 9 - Orientation (first day of program)

June 25, Professional Development #2 (Post-Secondary Possibilities)

July 9, Professional Development #4 (Stress Management and Resilience in Healthcare)
